Topics include First Aid Basics, Medical Emergencies, Injury Emergencies, and Environmental Emergencies. For those involved in child care who have a duty to respond to a first aid emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements, such as child care workers, teachers, foster care workers, camp counselors, youth organizations, and coaches for children’s sports organizations. The Family & Friends™ First Aid for Children program teaches how to manage illness and injuries in a child for the first few minutes until professional help arrives. This program covers such topics as preventing injuries, recognizing and treating basic first aid emergencies, and relief of choking in infants and children. For those caring for infants and children, such as family members, babysitters, and others providing in-home care, who want basic first aid information but who do not need a course completion credential. May be combined with Family and Friends CPR class at a significant discount.**
The Family & Friends™ CPR program teaches how to perform CPR in adults, children, or infants and how to help an adult, child, or infant who is choking. Family members, friends and members of the general community who want to learn CPR but do not need a course completion card. This program also can be a non-credentialed option for middle and high school students. This class aims to introduce kids 6-12 to the basics of First Aid and get them excited about learning CPR in the future. Topics discussed include: importance of wearing gloves when administering first aid, helping a choking victim, how to dial 911 on a land line as well as a cell phone, emergency plans for their home, what to do when someone falls from a height, how to care for nosebleeds, and how to bandage a bleeding wound. Additionally, they will watch a short age appropriate video demonstrating a CPR rescue and view a live demonstration on a manikin.
This class meets all Readyman badge requirements utilizing parts of the American Heart Association Family and Friends courses. Scouts receive American Heart Association Family and Friends CPR and First Aid for Children books. Rescue breather keychains are also available as a great take home souvenir!

Here's a flexible, time-saving option for workplaces that need to provide safety training. Delivered in three parts, this course covers adult/child CPR with mask, adult/child choking, and adult/child AED, and offers optional modules in infant CPR and choking. Part 1 delivers the cognitive learning through Web-based, self-paced modules that help students gain comfort performing the skills they will need for Parts 2 and 3 -- during which they will be required to meet with an American Heart Association instructor and complete a hands-on skills practice session and a skills test. Upon successful completion of all three parts, students receive a course completion card valid for two years. Perfect for first-time or renewal training, this course helps employers accommodate diverse learning needs and meets the same objectives as the classroom-based Heartsaver AED course -- in only two hours!
This Web-based eLearning product presents the cognitive portion (Part 1) of training online, covering all required sequences for an American Heart Association Heartsaver(R) First Aid With CPR & AED course and providing American Heart Association Heartsaver(R) First Aid review questions for participants to answer. Upon successful completion of the online course, students receive a Certificate of Completion that they must present at a skills practice session (Part 2) and skills test (Part 3) with an American Heart Association Instructor. Students receive their Heartsaver(R) First Aid course completion card upon successful completion of all parts of the course.

This updated release of the Web-based eLearning course provides Part 1, the online portion of the BLS for Healthcare Providers renewal course. It includes a series of modules that cover all required sequences. Provides participants with the convenient option of taking the AHA Healthcare Provider exam online. Those who successfully complete Part 1 receive a certificate that allows them entrance to a skills validation session with an AHA BLS instructor. An AHA course completion card will be issued by an AHA training center when both parts are successfully completed.
